Welcome to Jurassic World! by ALLEN CHILDERS

This weekend I had the pleasure of watching JURASSIC WORLD! It was nothing short of awesome! It was a great time for people of all ages even though there are some gruesome parts. I think it’s a smart progression from Jurassic Park into the future of this franchise. I loved how they paid homage to Jurassic Park through out the film. I am not sure how much factual science was sacrificed for the sake of dramatization, but I think it would definitely peak interest in dinosaurs once again. Jurassic World itself was a beautiful and immersive resort that played off the wonder of these extinct animals. Some primal wonder registers in our minds when we think of massive predators bigger than ourselves.

Chris Pratt played an Alpha Bad Ass with a soft spot for dinosaurs. His character Owen understands there nature and what they are capable of. In our current society there are those that intentionally connect with the wild creatures such as bears, lions, and wolves to raise awareness into the unique social structure of the animals themselves. I think this is similar in a fashion except for the military aspect.

I was impressed with the level of humor that they tried to bring into the movie as a counterpoint to the teeth & gore. I think Jurassic Park actually did this better with smarter writing and subtle sarcasm. To contrast Jurassic Park had a little more gore involved than Jurassic World.

The only downside if any to this thrill ride is that Character development was done on the fly and the dialogue felt like it was cliche. Other than that this was a great film and thrill ride that I enjoyed and would see again!

visit http://www.jurassicworld.com/ as well! It almost could have opened as an actual park with this level of production!
