I recently read my first book by Terry Pratchett and I am kicking myself for waiting until I was in my 40’s to do so! I found myself smiling at every other page. This Could quickly become one of my new favorite series and authors.
In the book a failed wizard named Rincewind is paired with a tourist from another land named Twoflower who has monstrous Luggage that follows them wherever they go. The satire and dialogue in this book is so clever and I love how Pratchett reinvents mythological creatures like dragons.
“It was octarine, the colour of magic. It was alive and glowing and vibrant and it was the undisputed pigment of the imagination, because wherever it appeared it was a sign that mere matter was a servant of the powers of the magical mind. It was enchantment itself.
But Rincewind always thought it looked a sort of greenish-purple.” Terry Pratchett , Color of Magic
